Colorado Venues for the Modern Couple

Deciding on a venue is overwhelming. We get it! We help couples make this leap in their planning process all the time, and we totally feel for you if you’re in this step of your planning journey. Whether you’re looking for a blank slate or a themed space, your venue will dictate the feel of your wedding day in some way, shape, or form. One simple step that we take with our couples to begin to narrow down venues (and kick off the planning process in general) is to really hone in on your personal style. Duh, right?! This idea seems so obvious, but we often find that our couples really do have to talk through, develop, and come to an agreement on this basic idea: what is their personal style? Once you’ve laid down this groundwork, let the planning fun begin! We’ve compiled a list of fabulous local venues and organized them by style and feel. Don’t see what you’re looking for, or need more ideas? We’re here to help.

We'll be sharing venue ideas based on style, so stay tuned for this fun three-part feature.

We admit it; we have a love affair with blanc. Some of our favorite weddings and styled shoots have taken place at this centrally located venue, and we can’t wait for our next adventure here. Blanc is in Downtown Denver’s RiNo neighborhood, which is recognized as one of Denver’s main Art Districts and up-and-coming neighborhoods. If you are a Denver devotee like us, you will love that you can see the towers of downtown when you stand on Walnut (out front of the venue), and your guests will love the proximity and accessibility to some of Denver’s top hotels and restaurants, located just a few blocks away. Blanc’s space lends itself to its name, boasting a blank slate with several spaces that can be used or closed off, depending on the size of your party and your needs. The kicker for us? The Barn across the courtyard from blanc’s main space is a fabulous flexible area for indoor/outdoor receptions. Want to take a tour? Let’s do it. (Photo by Nicole Lacriola)

If modern-industrial is your jam, Moss will be your DREAM venue. Exposed I-beams and original brick make this early 1900’s warehouse feel like real Denver history, in the cool-kid way we drool over. Moss is located in the Santa Fe Arts District, which makes this gem super accessible for vendors and guests alike. Because Moss offers multiple wall textures and lighting options throughout the space, no two events are the same. Our favorite thing about this modern venue is the ability to dress it up or down depending on your aesthetic; the industrial feel makes this space endlessly versatile. We encourage you to walk the space, as pictures really don’t do it justice! (Photo from MossDenver.com)

We’ll admit it; one of our founders grew up in Longmont which makes this location extra special for us. A matter of years ago, Longmont was a small farm town with dirt roads and only a few restaurants. Now, Longmont is Boulder’s up-and-coming little sister, located just 15 minutes from the well-known college town and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Your guests will find that accommodations nearby are ample, and there is TONS to do with how accessible Longmont is from Denver, Boulder, and the mountains. Guests who don’t want to travel far can enjoy the small-town feel in Downtown Longmont’s Creative District. The St. Vrain is packed with different spaces within the venue including a luxurious bridal suite, downstairs cocktail lounge, and a huge garden patio. They held their first event in October of 2017, and are booking up quickly for the upcoming seasons. (Photo by Decorus Fine Art Photography)
